We believe in the invisible and spiritual body of Christ. A body that consists of true believers whose duty it is to associate in Fellowships that are under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and Holy Scriptures. Fellowships where spiritual growth takes place, continual worship is maintained and interaction takes place between believers. We believe that Christ committed believers to form part of Fellowships that co-operate in the work of Christ to preach and proclaim the gospel throughout the world. Awaken Ministries International determines its own organization, statement of believe, forms of worship and retain the option to appoint and set apart its own ministers.

We believe in the laying on of hands and the anointing of oil by the saints for the sending out of pastors and missionaries. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the healing of the sick and the deliverance from demonic forces.

We believe that Jesus Christ incorporated two ordinances to the body of Christ, namely baptism and the Lord’s Supper, both open to all believers. We believe in baptism by immersion. Baptism symbolizes the death of the old body in the flesh and the birth of the new life in the spirit, union with Christ, a sign that we are buried with Christ and the impartation of the power of the Holy Spirit. Communion on the other hand symbolizes Jesus Christ’s atoning death in which He confirms and strengthens the spiritual union and relationship of believers to Himself.

We believe that through Jesus Christ we have access to the Father by one Spirit.

We believe that the true basis of Christian fellowships is Christ’s (agape) love. A love that is more intense, more powerful and greater than the differences we possess, and which without we cannot function in Christ’s fullness.

We believe that there is power in the Name of Jesus Christ and that we should do all things in this Name, the Name above every other name.

We believe that through the Word of God every believer is made aware of how to live one’s life and how to worship the one true God in everything one does; therefore our services are focused solely on the teachings of the Word of God, which reflects the ways in which to worship Him. We seek to teach the Word of God in such a way that each message can be applied to the individual’s life, leading the believer to maturity in Christ.

We believe that to worship God, it should be spiritual and inspirational; therefore we give place to music in our worship. We direct our worship to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that worship should be fruitful. By truly worshipping Him, we expect the supreme manifestation of His love in our lives.

We believe that fellowships should be simplistic rather than a complex set of rules and legislations. We depend on the Holy Spirit to lead us in everything we do, rather than following our own ideas.

We believe that the Bible clearly states that spiritual gifts are for the edification of the body of Christ and that these gifts should be exercised in love, because without love, even the most spectacular gifts are worthless. In our services we focus on a personal relationship with God through worship, prayer, speaking in tongues, the manifestation of Holy Spirit gifts and the teaching of the Word of God.
